A Note From the Owner...

My name is Jennifer Wade and I am the owner of Standing Ovation Academy.  A little about me... I can‘t recall a memory in my life without some sort of association to music.  I joke that I have my own personal Soundtrack as almost every major life event is linked to a song.  I was first introduced to music performance through piano beginning at age 6, evolved to singing in middle and high school, and then expanded to musical theater through church, community theater, and college.  Eventually, I shifted my professional focus to the field of finance, but never lost the passion for music, theater, and performance. I‘ve had the honor to participate in many opportunities over the past thirty plus years, both through participation and leadership: Vocal Ensembles, Praise Teams, Solo Opportunities, Special Projects (Truth Ensemble, Young Messiah Tour), creating new Youth Vocal & Theater groups, performing in Theater/Musical Theater productions, and directing over twenty (20) Adult, Youth, and Children’s Musical Theater productions.  I now realize  how important it is that young, aspiring performers not only have training grounded in experience,  but also are treated with compassion and acceptance, and receive continued mentorship.  I believe that anyone with enough drive and who possesses a commitment to learn can be a performer.  And even if performing isn’t the end goal, there are so many positive qualities and attributes that derive from participating in performing  arts: self-confidence, public speaking  skills, team collaboration, and many other life skills.  Standing Ovation Academy was created and designed to be that needed resource.  I am committed to not only pursuing my passion but also to encourage and help development others in their journey.  Additionally, I recently studied Commercial Music through Liberty University to ensure I am relevant on current techniques and to be able to offer Composition/Song Writing and Sound Mixing/Producing in the near future.  I am excited for what’s ahead and thankful beyond words for this opportunity.
